Welcome to Arithmancy! I am Professor Granger Today you will be learning about the basics of Arithmancy.
Arithmancy is an ancient system of fortune-telling based on names and numbers. For over 2000 years, people have used Arithmancy to analyze their strengths and weaknesses, overcome obstacles, and predict the future. Hermione probably likes this system of divination because it isn't based on interpreting fuzzy images or giving meaning to random shapes and squiggles, but on mathematical calculations you can do with a pencil and paper--or in this case, right here on your computer.
This will all that you learn for now today please take notes for this lesson will be deleted during exams!
HOMEWORK:
1) What is Arithmancy? (put in your own words!)
2) Why are you taking this class?
3) What are the 4 main things that Arithmancy do?
This lesson will not close until exams. I keep them open so that anyone that comes in late can learn and catch up easier!
